I go by the nickname of
Stormy, or StormeRider
online (along with a few other personas such as Jasmeralia, Karlon, and
Ormryche... the latter two being characters of mine). I use my pen name
(Alan Morgan)
for my writing related stuffs, which is FM, Evo, and my blog. I have a
real name, but I'm still trying to decide if I'm going to change it to
my pen name or not. In the meantime please feel free to call me Stormy
or Morgan, my preferred forms of address
I'm 25 years old (born in the winter, hated it ever since), living
in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. Professionally, I'm a systems administrator
/ computer programmer / web designer / database administrator... or I
was until I laid myself off from the company I'm part owner of because
it couldn't afford to pay the bills. I'm just now finally getting back
into the IT industry after taking a job at a women's clothing catalog.
I've got 2 novel WIPs, and several short WIPs. I write mainly high/epic
fantasy with the occasional dabbling in sci-fi.
I'm currently between relationships... actually my last one
breaking up was the catalyst to get back into writing again. I'm still
working through issues with my (dysfunctional) family, but I've
reconciled with them, so it's an interesting process of healing.
As an Evolution Site Administrator, I help out by handling the
technical side of things. I work with dstar to extend the message
boards running on his system, taking community requests and customizing
things to fit Evolution. Wherever possible I am always looking to help
leverage my knowledge of Open Source projects to keep the site running
without us needing to chip into a donation pot for software licenses.
